Compare ESX Server and ESXi server versions
To compare ESX and ESXi versions of VMware, I found an article (thanks Dunkan), which explaining in details what is possible to do (or not) in both versions of VMware products. The article I’m talking about is at the VMware website.
There is quite a few things that I was not aware of. For example:
VMware ESXi supports SNMP when licensed to a VI Foundation, VI Standard, or VI Enterprise edition. The free version of VMware ESXi does not support SNMP.
