Not the same because VMware ESX as an OS, all the config necessary is automatically selected. (like 2gig RAM etc..)…..-:)

Hi ,
Have a question, If esx 4 installed in Ws7 (with 2 virtual NIC’s in Ws7) after installation will these virtual Nic’s come up as 2 physical adapters(not physical in real sense) when administering the esx via vsphere client. I tried this 2 nics shows up during esx install but after install I cannot do a ping to the esx host.Can you point out where I am going wrong.

Make sure that those 2 nics are used as a “bridged” option in Settings for this ESX 4 VM…. -:) That’s more likely the cause..
