New freeware from Xtravirt – vLogView
Freware from Xtravirt to manage ESX Server Logs.
vLogView is a Windows® based application which manages VMware® ESX Server log files.
The product should installed on an administrators PC, and provides the ability to store, view and search ESX Server log files from multiple ESX Servers, without requiring individual login, navigation and manual file transfer.
You must have an access to your vCenter Server.
Requirements:
- Windows 2000 (sp4), Windows 2003, Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7
- Dotnet 3.5
You can use the Search box to search inside the logs:
Once a log file has been loaded into the textbox, a search for a specific word or phrase can be
carried out by entering the search phrase and clicking the Search in Log button. The search
process will highlight all found instances. The search process can take some time depending
upon the size of the log file.
The software supports VMware vCenter 2.5 & 4.0, and VMware ESX Server 3.x and 4.x.

I run VMware on Linux and I love it but would love to know how if perform on windows for a client.
what what server would be the best server as in hardware specs
Hi John,
What do You mean that you run VMware on Linux. Are you running WMware Workstation or VMware Server?
You know that you can run bare-metal hypervizor like ESXi 4. You’ll run VMware directly on your hardware, without any additional layer in between….
To fing a compatible hardware, you can have a look at VMware HCL (hardware compatibility list). See this link: http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php
