I’ll be announcing the winners on Saturday 3rd of April… First 10 people with maximum number of points will win.

Personal Edition includes all the functionalities of Corporate Edition except that it works only with desktop operating systems. Not servers. To be able to P2V or V2P server OSes, you’ll need the Corporate.

The product does not only P2V and V2V like other free tools. It does a V2P conversions if needed. It’s kind of tricky, because when you want to do a V2P conversion you’ll need to inject proper drivers for the destination system, otherwise the sytem won’t boot. That’s where is a special step in the conversion process made for this. You can even change SID while you there.

Now why would one need to convert back to physical. I know, I know. But ask yourself a question. Did you ever thought that if vMware converter standalone would be able to perform V2P conversions too, what would be a top feature. But unfortunately the vmware converter does not do that.

Which products are supported? There is of course VMware Workstation, VMware Fusion, Microsoft Virtual PC and also Sun VirtualBox.

V2P conversions are not much documented. I found only this article with using sysprep for P2V conversion. So you’re about left behind with no tool for V2P. There is PlateSpin (now Novell) PowerConvert which does that.

And while creating a blog post about this article why not head strait on the Paragon Software’s website to get a completely free tool for partitioning your VMS. Have fun.

Paragon software starts to really rocks…. In fact, Paragon Software provides a Free tool for partitioning or VMs. I’ve done a detailed blog post about this tool already few months back.

Partition Manager 10 for Virtual Machines is a special version of our Linux/DOS bootable environment that contains fully functional Partition Manager 10 Professional.

Partition Manager can redistribute free space from one partition to another without data loss. It’s also able to merge and hide/unhide partitions, and convert a partition between different types (primary or logical) and file systems (such as FAT32 and NTFS).

Paragon has bundled a simple backup wizard to image your data prior to making major changes. This is ideal if you’re upgrading a hard drive and don’t want to mess around with reinstalling anything. We liked the fact you can run the program from CD within Windows, so you don’t need to clutter up your system be installing it.”

Go and download your free tool too…
