Sharing the knowledge was always been my priority.
Why using RSS is crucial these days?
Since the beginning of this resource website the main reason was to share informations. We live in a world where the informations are in quantity easy accessible and reachable. So if you interest only let say in Server Virtualization. Then you start goggling around and you find what you want. But most of the time the creator of the website has more to say on the subject or on different subjects and you will not check every day if he updated his website or not. That’s impossible.
That’s where RSS comes to help you with that. I can say, I’m an IT professional and I’m only using RSS since I found out by myself what it can do to me as a time saver. I only started using RSS like 2 years ago when I started with WordPress as a web management platform or CMS (content management system) and I figured it out. This website is running on WordPress.
The process is fairly simple. You don’t need to install any other additional software. Just use your web browser:
01. Create a google account (if you already don’t have one)
02. Click on the RSS icon on the website you want to subscribe.

03. It takes you to a google intermediate page where you can choose how you’ll want to read your news.

04. On another page you can choose either iGoogle or Google Reader. I prefer Google Reader because I have a lot of subscriptions and on the iGoogle page you don’t have enough space.

05. You’ll end up having all your subscription sources on the left hand side while you can scroll through the content on the right. Whenever there is a new article published on one of sites to which you took RSS subscription, it will appear in bold. The websites which were not updated since you last consulted them, they just stay grayed out.

I have also done a page explaining the RSS, and there are some videos too… But the video done by me was one of those first videos I have ever done before… so don’t be too critical….. -:)
