Once downloaded, I installed the software on my laptop and started to play with…. (oh yes)… So there is quite new stuff here. The main purpose of VMware Converter is basically convert a physical machine into virtual machine, right? But VMware converter can bring you additional functionalities which are very usefull when you need to reconfigure or move existing VMs from home (testing environement) to somewhere else. For example you have now many more choices of type of VM when you want to re-configure your virtual machine.

I suppose that VMware will keep this product for free (for 1 simultaneous conversion) as it was in the version 3.

The design of the product has completely changed and is more ergonomic.

Great feature concerning services. Basically you can stop/start service on the source machine and on the righ tab you can choose if you want the service to be stopped or started when your VM will start after the conversion.

Actually it did not worked for me the first time… -:) … I wanted to convert my Vista Laptop and I had 2 different error messages. One was some error about SQL and the second time I tried I had an disk space error.. So I’ll see it tomorrow.
