Use WDS and Hyper-V to virtualize Server 2003 SP2

In this video which I found at the new TrainSignal’s Windows Server HQ website you will see that is possible to use WDS (Windows deployment services ) to virtualize a server running 2003 SP2 without the need SCVMM (System Center Virtual Machine Manager) for the P2V conversion. For now, Microsoft does not provide a P2V conversion tool – free of charge.

Sure, there is VMware Converter Standalone – a free tool from VMware, which allows to run multiple tasks now. But sometimes in the client’s environment you’ll see a Hype-V and you have to know what to do when the situation comes in. You’ll have to find a way to do a P2V into Hyper-V with a free tool.
