To keep up with VMware certifications is fairly difficult unless you choose single way and specialize yourself in for example Datacenter virtualization. Then you can start to pass VCP-DV (VMware certified professional – datacenter virtualization). For the VCAP level exam you got to pass VCAP-DCA (datacenter administration) or VCAP-DCD (datacenter design) exam. And to became architect, there is a VCDX path, which not many people achieved, because of the difficulty.
