What is RSS
Before, I use to jump from website to website using my bookmarks or favorites to stay informed about my favorite websites. But can you imagine that after, you like like 20, 50 or 100 websites? It’s impossible to go to all of them and check to see if there is something new today. So thats why using RSS can save your time.
This is a video explaining what is RSS. It’s very easy to understand.
Then you’ll be amazed what RSS can save you your time. I didn’t know what rss is before . I tell you. It’s real time saver.
You can subscribe to my feed here.
The second video is my video (yep, I’m a video producer…. -:) ). I’m trying to use videos to explain things. Well I’m a beginner… but I’m learning. So you will see how to open a google account to start using Google Reader. Actually you should watch this video first and then the second, but never mind. The information is here, just pick it up and start save your time.
Have a look at this image. You can see that when you click onto a RSS icon, then you can follow any new articles that I’m publishing free in your google reader.

You can go even further and personalize the view of the little icons instead having all the same. The author/creator of the site must be using his (her) own favicon to reflect this. You must then activate this personalized view in google reader options.

To be able to do that, while you are in Google Reader, go to Reader settings on your right hand side and click on Settings > Reader Settings.
This opens a Settings page where you can see the necessary checkbox at the bottom. You need to activate this option since by default it’s not checked. Enjoy…
