Last year I have reported on two new VMware certificatons: VMware Certified Professional Certifications for VMware administrators: VCP-VVF and VCP-VCF. Those certifications are maintained, and other certifications were added to this recently and we'll talk about it in this post.
There is now 5 main VMware VCP certifications – VCP-VVF Support, VCP-VCF Administrator, VCP-VVF Support, VCP-VCF Architect and VCP-VVF Administrator. (trying to highlight the differences here).
The format of ALL those exams is identical. The same number of questions, same passing score, same price. Everything. Those certifications are destined to differentiate the qualification you're working for. Whether you want to seek a job as a support engineer, administrator or architect. Two VMware products are covered: VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF) and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
The differences between VVF and VCF?
VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF):
Components: vSphere Enterprise Plus, vCenter Server, Aria Suite Standard, Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG).
Focus: Server virtualization and basic operations management for smaller/mid-sized businesses.
VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):
Components: All VVF components plus vSAN, NSX, Aria Suite Enterprise, SDDC Manager, HCX.
Focus: Full-stack hybrid cloud with network/storage virtualization, automation, and lifecycle management for enterprises.
Key Difference: VVF is a lighter virtualization platform; VCF is a comprehensive SDDC solution with additional storage, networking, and cloud management features.
Now let's get back to the certifications.

Final Words
If you're after the latest VMware certifications than this is what you need to know. Things has changed and many SMBs, small shops or even enterprises are considering to move out of VMware as they become too expensive. However certification are still needed as support for those products will most likely continue, deployment and administrations as well, and if you're consultant or enterprise architect than having the latest certification from Industry leading (still) virtualization company, is a must.
The virtualization landscape is changing, but the changes are kind of slow and the customers who pays to already estabilished infrastructure with hardware that are in the middle of the cycle (let's say 5 years) will not scratch it to replace with something else but instead they'll wait till the cycle end and then, when they'll replace their aging hardware or the harware that will be out of support with new infrastructure with another virtualization software, most likely OpenSource like Proxmox, XCP-NG, Open Nebula or Platform 9. But there are many others, including HPE VM Essentials (will be supported by Veeam!!!)
