VMware has put online a test questions which allows you to train yourself for passing a VCA exam. VCA – VMware Certified Associate – is a new entry level certification exam for IT professionals who want to take a first step into a virtualization.
The VCA level is really the first level which allows to validate the knowledge that you have when starting with virtualization and VMware, and possibly to continue the learning process to earn VCP certification and (or) higher.
It's the most easy exam to start with.
The real VCA exam is 90 minutes long with an option additional 30 minutes if your native language is not english. The real exam contains 50 questions.
Further steps to get certified? VCP ! But for that you'll have to take a real class. With an instructor. There is an option to do an online class too, but real class is better IMHO as you can network with the other students as well as ask questions directly with the instructor. After the class you'll need to schedule VCP exam and if you pass, then you earn the official VCP certification.
But let's go back to the sample questions for the VCA exam which are now available.
Quote from the announce:
Each practice exam includes 15 questions written by the same team that wrote the actual certification exams, ensuring that they match the exam objectives. After the 30-minute practice exam, you’ll immediately receive your score to help you gauge how prepared you are for the official certification exam.
To became a VCA certified you don't need to attend a VMware class, just to sit the exam. Read more about VCA and the different VCA exams in my post here.
With each of those exams you will get some advantages too:
- Official Transcript
- Recognition of your technical knowledge
- Use of VCA logos
- Access to the exclusive VCA portal
- Discounted admissions to VMware events
- Opportunities for your career advancement
Take 15 question from each of those exams:
