If you're Amazon EC2 instances you might need to back them up, right? Good news today as Veeam has just released Veeam Backup for AWS Free Version. It is a fully featured version which integrates with Veeam Backup and Replication 9.5 Update 4 via this patch enabling the integration.
After installing the patch you'll be able to register buckets with cloud-native backups created by Veeam Backup for AWS as an external repository in Veeam Backup and replication.
For restores you'll be able to perform restores directly from cloud backups. You can also use Backup Copy jobs to make “off-site” copies of your cloud backups from object storage to a Veeam repository on-premises or in another cloud.
It is AWS-native backup solution which is deployed through AWS marketplace.
Veeam Backup for AWS Free Edition provides unlimited restores from any Veeam Backup for AWS backup, and allows backups of up to 10 EC2 Instances.
It allows you to do backups of your EC2 instances and send them to S3 for long term storage. Restores are possible as full workloads or you can restore individual files. Restores can be either a cross-account and cross-region.
